Geographical Range China (Jilin, Liaoning, Hebei, Henan, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan, Fujian, Taiwan, Guangdong, Hainan, Guangxi, Sichuan, Yunnan, Xizang), Japan (Chu & Wang, 1996); Ylla et al., (2005) (who promoted ningpoana to species rank from being a subspecies of A. selene) give eastern China and Taiwan. In Hong Kong Distribution: widespread. Status: common; over 100 records, primarily from secondary forest, though can wonder several kilometres into other habitats, even urban areas. Recorded larval hostplant: Liquidambar formosana Hance. (Hamamelidaceae). Adult Phenology: multivoltine, adults seen from mid-February through mid-December in anything up to 7 generations. |
